Help for Housing Starts with Your Support

Your home is so much more than your address. Where you choose to live affects your commute, where you shop, and where your children go to school. Since Housing North began work in 2018, it has become a recognized voice locally, regionally, and statewide, introducing, championing, and implementing innovative housing solutions—through new legislation, a public awareness campaign, new housing conservancy tools, local staff to coordinate development, and a resource library for advocates, local governments and employers.

Housing North is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We are formally known as the Northwest Rural Michigan Housing Partnership EIN # 83-3499967. You are welcome to send your donation to Housing North at P.O. Box 1434, Traverse City, MI 49685

Thank you to our donors and supporters!

GIFTS TO A PROGRAM

Charlevoix County Primary Residence Deed Restriction Program

The City of Charlevoix has been proactively creating more housing opportunities with a focus on year-round housing and workforce housing through a Primary Residence Deed Restriction Program.

Housing Ready Program

The goal of this program is to partner with local units of government and organizations to put “boots on the ground” that can help make the community what we call “housing ready.”  To learn more about these programs, click here.

Rental Preservation Program

In Summer of 2022, we were fortunate to receive a $100,000 challenge grant from Consumers Energy Foundation to launch a PILOT Rental Preservation Program to help secure year-round housing in our region. The Pilot program will be in Leelanau County, but will ultimately provide additional opportunities to support housing projects throughout the region. We are excited to share that we successfully raised the matching $100,000 to receive $100,000 to launch this program. Click here to learn more about this program.

If you would like to donate to either of these programs or help fund a program in your community, please contact yarrow@housingnorth.org.
