2023 HOUSING NEEDS ASSESSMENT
This 2023, Housing North received support from the Frey Foundation, Networks Northwest, and Hagerty to conduct a Housing Needs Assessment of our 10-county region in northern Michigan including the counties of Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee and Wexford. We have been working with Bowen National Research to conduct the Housing Needs Assessment (HNA).
The HNA includes the following work elements:
Demographic Analysis
Economic Analysis
Housing Supply Analysis
Housing Market Conditions
Non-Conventional Rentals
For-Sale Housing
Development Pipeline and Building Permits
The report and conclusions will provide government entities, area housing professionals, and other interested stakeholders with the base of knowledge to make informed strategic decisions on housing priorities and plans. The analysis will enable the client to understand their greatest housing needs and allow them to begin to structure policies and/or establish incentives to support targeted housing products.

This online chart contains information by county on household income, wages, and home prices in all of our ten county region.

According to Networks Northwest, the 2022 Wage Survey gave businesses the opportunity to provide hourly and salary wage information for 29 job families containing a total of 677 job titles. Networks Northwest collaborated with multiple business and community partners to conduct the survey which targeted businesses of all sizes, within all industries, throughout the 10-county region.
