Joseph Rivet was appointed Executive Director of the Michigan State Land Bank Authority in 2023. He had previously served as Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Prior to his appointments at the State, he was an elected official for more than 25 years at the township, county and state level, including three terms in the Michigan House of Representatives. He has an MBA in finance From Michigan State University and graduate degree in public administration from Central Michigan University. He lives in Bay City and is married to Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet. They have six children.
